The MG European Event Of The Year 2017 is starting nowREGISTRATION from 1st november till 7 january 2017
or more days if you may feel challenged to find more about PORTO and North of Portugal. We’ll try to help… Portugal was born 900 years ago ( more ! ) host the first capital in the north of the country. Why PORTO has been chosen as the base for the EEOTY2017 ? The sunny days, the living culture, gastronomy of excellency fantastic table wines and, of course the Port Wine, medieval streets and monuments, the cathedral, means SÉ and RIBEIRA ( world heritage by UNESCO) , modernity well represented by the CASA DA MÚSICA and the CRUISE TERMINAL at Leixões harbour. Lodge at two five star hotels , side by side, at the modern region of the town, just at less than 4,5 klm of the City Park and the Atlantic ocean, where you may relax biking or jogging. Also less than 10 minutes driving to the old part of town to vist syombolic places like LIVRARIA LELLO one of the 5 more beautiful bookshops of the world, the CAFÉ MAGESTIC, or even walking through the renovated RUA DAS FLORES finishing the trip at RIBEIRA for a glass of wine or a typical Portuguese “tapas” facing the Port Wine cellars on the other bank of river Douro.
Well, let’s talk about the program we have planned for you, dear EEOTY2017 participant.
Reception of participants officialy starts on 3rd August 2017 at Fundação A. Cupertino de Miranda Congress Center which stay near hotels Here participants will get the Event documentation and may ask assistance to enjoy one of the 4 road-books to drive out of Porto at their own convenience; in this case to have one more chance of driving around. The welcome drink with briefing for details and answer your questions regarding following days will take place in the evening, followed by dinner at same premises ( Fundação A. Cupertino de Miranda ) and you will drive back to the hotels. Those participants who need to park trailers or trucks can do it at specific reserved place. The next day it will be a full day out of town, friday 4th of August, going up to the Douro Valley, also a world heritage by UNESCO, watching the vineyards, either by boat and return by train with lunch on board, either driving your MG through the national roads, including part of the famous EN222 with lunch at a wine farm, and both options at your choice. Evening free to allow you to enjoy Porto by night, relaxing or a little more “shaking” at Porto area of “la movida” at GALERIA DE PARIS-CLÉRIGOS.
On saturday the 5th of August we have prepared several trips around Porto driving your MG and giving you the opportunity to get acquainted with the country side, the Portuguese hospitality and gastronomy, trips assisted by our volunteers (lunch included). We have prepared 3 Rallye-tours, being Rallye 1 to enjoy Vinho Verde Region, not far from Porto, driving across vineyards; Rallye 2 driving south of Porto close to the coast,still on Costa Verde region to turn around at Aveiro city where you will find typical boats crossing the tow; the Rallye 3 being at "Porto e Norte" touristic region you should visit Guimarães, the city where Portugal was born, and Braga also called in very ancient times Bracara Augusta. You also may take advantage of these road-books eihter for pre or after Event spcifically on Thursday, at your descritionary time table and meals, which are not included.
But… we want you back soon in town for a Port Wine Cellars guided visit and be ready for the Gala Dinner… The Gala Dinner will take place at Fundação A Cupertino de Miranda Congress Center, with live music, the usual announcements by the MGCC(Uk), officials from the EEOTY2018, and invited people to do it. Relax… we’ll pick you up at hotels by bus to Fundação Congress Center and back, safely.

The registration at EEOTY2017 is now closed and its Organization is happy to announce the success of the participation of 221 MG fans from 12 european countries, who will be lodge at two five star hotels in the modern district of Porto.
As already announced we have extend the 3 Rallye -Tours prepared for saturday the 5th august, to your descritionary time options days, before or after Event, this way allowing you to take advantage of profiting more driving your MG in Porto region and Northern Portugal supported by these road-books.
On Saturday all the 3 Rallye-Tours will finish at GAIA, south bank of river Douro, where all the Port Wine cellars stays. After a guided visit to one of them, where we will taste the famous PortWine, and Sponsored by the GAIA Mayor of the town, we will expect an easier return back to hotels, to be ready for the Gala Dinner.
Another detail we ask to take note, the EEOTY2017 “task force” has change the Reception and Briefing for the 3rd august to a new location, due to relevant reasons, which will be at Fundação Dr. Antonio Cupertino de Miranda Congress Center, to be found at the EEOTY2017 Program.
